Open question to the community:
When you come to want to deploy your Spokes Plugin I perceive you have 2 options:
1. Deploy your application + your Spokes Plugin + the Spokes SDK MSI or MSM (merge module)
OR
2. Deploy your application + your Spokes Plugin + the full Spokes Software MSI from plantronics.com
In the case of option 1. you end up with a "private" version of Spokes that will out-of-box only contain:
- the Logging plugin
- the REST plugin
+ Your plugin (once you add your plugin to the "PURE.xml" - Spokes config file).
In the case of option 2. you end up with the "full" version of Spokes that will out-of-box contain:
- the Logging plugin
- the REST plugin
- The Plantronics Control Panel (for easy configuration of device settings)
- The Plantronics Battery Status Monitor (shows wireless headset battery status on the system tray area)
- The Plantronics Update Manager (for easy update of Spokes software and device firmware)
- Other softphone plugins (allowing your application to operate in a multi-softphone environment)
+ Your plugin (once you add your plugin to the "PURE.xml" - Spokes config file)
Note: for option 2. if you've used any Spokes 2.6 SDK beta features you would need to wait until the full Spokes 2.6 is released on plantronics.com.
So the question is, which option would be preferred?
