Some use cases around device management

Hi -

 

I'm new to Plantronics Dev Zone - and recently working on some SIP-based Agent Desktop/EndPoint project. Before getting started with Plantronics SDK - I have a few queries - if anyone can confirm some of the use cases around device management below and detecting those using Plantronics SDK -

 

  • Standard set of stuff…..muting of microphone and speaker, volume adjustment of microphone and speaker
  • Headset detection at login:  To ensure that an agent is truly ready to take calls, at login time the desktop must detect that a headset is properly plugged-in and set the agent state and reason accordingly.
  • Headset unplug detection:  After the agent log in if the headset becomes un-plugged the desktop must detect it, warn, and set agent state accordingly.
  • Headset re-plug detection:  If the headset became un-plugged and the agent re-plug it back in either the same or different usb port the desktop needs to detect this activity and respond accordingly (i.e. set agent to ready again).
  • If the headset unplug during an active call, the call must not be disconnected and should continue when the agent re-plug the headset
  • Wireless headsets are becoming popular. Agent roams the floor hence not at desk but is ready for call.  When the call arrives a tone is played.  Assuming the agent is not set to auto answer, the agent press the answer button on the headset.
  • Wireless headset.  Agent roams the floor while on an active call with customer, they would like to mute the microphone, speaker and microphone volume adjustment using the button on the headset.
  • End call using physical button on the wireless headset.
